Boris Baer, Ph.D.

Member, Scientific Advisory Committee

Boris Baer is Professor for Pollinator Health at the University of California, Riverside, and a globally recognized authority on bee biology, immunity, and reproduction. He is the founder of the Centre for Integrative Bee Research (CIBER), which pioneered interdisciplinary collaborations uniting molecular biology, ecology, engineering and applied beekeeping to safeguard pollinator health.

Over his career, Boris has secured more than $9M in competitive funding, published extensively in leading journals, and trained over 16 postdoctoral scholars, 19 Ph.D. students, and dozens of undergraduates. His leadership has advanced understanding of honeybee immunity, reproduction, and the impacts of stressors on pollinator populations, while also influencing policy and best practices for beekeeping worldwide.

As Member of the ArcGen Pro Scientific Advisory Committee, Boris brings deep expertise in pollinator health, evolutionary biology, and interdisciplinary collaboration to guide innovative semiochemical solutions. His insights help ArcGen Pro link cutting-edge science with practical strategies that strengthen agriculture, protect biodiversity, and enhance global food security.
